Nannie Lambert Power O'Donoghue was one of the foremost horsewomen of her time.
Born into an upper-middle-class family in Dublin, she lived there all her life. She wrote two books on riding, and was the only person to ride Ireland's three most formidable steeplechase courses with no refusals or mistakes. And she rode them side saddle.
It is her works on riding side saddle for which she is best remembered, but she wrote on social issues and animal welfare, as well as an opera.
This biography of her is the result of considerable research by its author.
This book is not published by Jane Badger Books. In my bookselling days I bought the author's stock and found them again when we had to clear the office.
