Heroines on Horseback is a look at the pony book in children's fiction, and it takes you from the very beginning of the pony book to the 1970s.

Like many of you, I could never quite get over the ending of Pony Jobs for Jill, where Jill goes meekly off to secretarial college. I always wondered what would happen if she did, and so wrote Jill and the Lost Ponies.

And do I ride? Yes. Started again after a long, long break, and it's great.
